I had an epiphany the other day: I am the Marie Kondo of money.
If you’ve read Marie’s book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up or watched her Netflix series, you’ll know that she helps people conquer their physical clutter once and for all. She has a very specific process for doing this.
Marie helps people remove all their clutter, assessing what to keep and what to get rid of. Plus, she has a system for storing what’s left after the decluttering process. Most importantly, her system is it easy to maintain for the long term.
I know because I went through it myself, three years ago, after reading her book. I decluttered and re-organized my entire house. The super cool thing is that it is still organized and tidy today!
One of her keys for lasting success in this area is that she trains you to think differently about your possessions.
I realized the other day that I am the Marie Kondo of money.
I go through a very similar process with my clients and their finances. We pull all of their money stuff (the good, the bad, and the ugly) out of the closet. I help them sort through all of the financial details. We assess what’s working well and what’s not. (And just like cleaning out a closet, it’s a messy process at first, and things usually look worse before they look better.)
Then we create a money management system that specifically works for my client. We organize their finances in a way that’s simple and easy for them to maintain for the long term.
Most importantly, I train my clients how to think differently about money, how to respect it and have a good relationship with it. This is my secret sauce. It’s why my clients stick with with their Prosperity Plan for the long haul.
Sure, occasionally, they need a tuneup, especially if a major life event occurs like starting a business. But as far as I know, no one who has completed my six month coaching program has reverted to their old ways. Just as I have stuck with Marie Kondo’s system for keeping my house and everything in it in a perpetual state of tidiness.
Ready to say goodbye to financial disorganization and overwhelm once and for all? As the Marie Kondo of money, I will help you permanently “tidy up” your finances, so you feel positive and peaceful about it!
